North Dakota State Fair attendance remains solid
MINOT, N.D. -- Attendance at the North Dakota State Fair through Wednesday was running slightly behind a year ago, with the fair averaging nearly 33,000 visitors per day through its first six days.
If this year's daily average continues through Saturday, the final day of the fair, the attendance total would be slightly less than the 299,077 that attended the fair one year ago. So far, 197,972 have attended this year.
The three remaining concerts could boost the daily average. Cheap Trick was at the grandstand Thursday night, Dierks Bentley performs Friday and Nickelback closes on Saturday.
The fair topped the 300,000 mark in attendance in 2010 and 2012-2015. There was no fair during the flood year of 2011.
The highest attendance ever recorded at the State Fair was 320,485 patrons in 2013.
