Fire Destroys Dickinson Condos

The third annual Recycle Yourself 5K is Saturday, April 21, at the Dickinson High School. Registration begins at 9 a.m. and the walk begins at 11 a.m.

The annual race recognizes the importance of organ donation. In January 2013, the Theurer family suffered a tragic loss. Their son, brother, nephew and grandson, Kevin, passed away after a car accident. They made the choice of donating Kevin's organs. Through that decision many lives were saved.

In September 2015, the Torstenson family was also impacted by organ donation when they found out that there was a donor kidney for their family member, Tyler. The family had waited six years for the day to come.

The families put together a Recycle Yourself 5K to bring awareness to the community about how important being an organ donor is.

All of the money raised by the 5K will be given to LifeSource and to purchase gift cards to be given to transplant recipient families for expenses during their stays in the hospital.

Participants are encouraged to wear blue and green on race day.

To register for the race go to https://www.active.com/dickinson-nd/running/distance-running-races/3rd-a.... The cost is $30 for adults and $15 for kids 12 and younger. People may register the day of the race.

There will be a jumping castle for the kids before the race.
