Two killed in head-on crash on snowy road in northwest North Dakota

NEW TOWN, N.D. — A crash near here Friday morning, Oct. 5, on a snowy stretch of road left two people dead, according to the North Dakota Highway Patrol.

The crash happened about 6:30 a.m. on the Highway 23 business loop near New Town.

An eastbound semi driven by a 63-year-old man from Dagmar, Mont., lost control on the snowy road and crossed over the centerline, colliding head-on with a pickup driven by a 28-year-old man, the patrol said.

The driver of the pickup and his passenger, a 22-year-old woman, died at the scene, the patrol said. The driver of the semi was not injured.

The identities of the motorists involved were not released. The crash is under investigation.

New Town is about 150 miles northwest of Bismarck.
