Dickinson State Athlete of the week - Amad Andrews Jr.
During the Dickinson State football team's 48-24 road win over Presentation College (S.D.) on Saturday, Oct. 27, junior running back Amad Andrews Jr. ran 108 yards over 19 carries for two touchdowns. The California native leads the Blue Hawks on the ground with 755 rushing yards over nine games this season.
DP: How long have you been playing football and what is your favorite part?
AA: "I've been playing football since I was six years old. I would say my favorite part is having the ball in my hands and taking control of everything."
DP: What has been your secret to success this year?
AA: "My secret to success would be working hard every week and continuing to work hard for the rest of the season."
DP: Do you have any team or individual goals for the rest of the season?
AA: "Team goals, to make it to playoffs, obviously, and try to go far to win a championship. Personal goals, just do whatever I can to make the team better."
DP: If you could only eat one food for the rest of your life, what would it be?
AA: "If I could only eat one food for the rest of my life, I would probably choose Italian food, like pasta or something."
DP: Where is the best place to eat in town?
AA: "I'm not sure. I would probably say Applebee's or JD's BBQ."
DP: If you had to get rid of two of your sense, what would they be?
AA: "That's a hard one. Maybe my sense of smell and hearing."
DP: What is the best show or movie?
AA: "My favorite movie is Friday, it's a pretty funny movie."
DP: Who or what is your biggest inspiration to succeed?
AA: "I would say my biggest inspiration is my probably my dad. He gives me a lot of motivation and he helps me out with a lot of things."
